Jerica Phillips joined ALSAC – the fundraising and awareness organization for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital – in 2022, where she leads a team of communications professionals responsible for media relations and reputation management. Prior to joining ALSAC, Jerica served as the Chief of Communications and Broadcast Services at Memphis-Shelby County Schools. In this role, she was a communications strategist and storyteller for the largest school district in Tennessee, and the 23 rd largest district in the US. Her experience includes more than a decade as an anchor and reporter for the NBC television affiliate in Memphis (WMC).

A Memphis native, she earned a Communications and Broadcast Journalism degree from the University of Tennessee-Knoxville.

Her accomplishments have catapulted her to a position of trust and admiration. Throughout her career, she has unapologetically advocated for equity and access. From becoming a recognizable and credible face in local news to serving as a parent-advocate on the Board of Directors for the Down Syndrome Association of Memphis, to graduating with the 2021 Executive Class of Leadership Memphis and being honored as Top 40 Under 40 Urban Elite Professionals, she has embraced her ability to authentically engage people and uniquely influence stories.

In her free time, Jerica enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, eating southern food and dancing.
