About BSW TEENS

We strive to create a drama-free environment where women can come together with the collective mind set of empowering one another. In addition to teen mentoring we are volunteers in the community.

We participate in activities such as, Royal Neighbors of America, Peace First, Habitat for Humanity, Memphis Food Bank, Breast Cancer Walk, Forgotten Souls Colition (House of Mentzi), City Wide Clean Up, Back to School Drive, Anti-Drug/Alcohol, STD Awareness, Autism Awareness, Sickle Cell Awareness, Crohn's and much more. We are a 4X Stone Award Winner for Best Non – Profit Organization, 2019 Loreal Women of Worth Honoree and MVP 2018 Best Non-Profit Organization (Memphis Grizzles).

Our ultimate goal is to make ourselves readily available wherever we are needed in the community. BSW is not just an organization it is a lifestyle.

We are a group of women diligently working to improve our conditions.

Beautiful Spirited Women (BSW), a non-profit dedicated to empowering
and advocating for girls. BSW
provides young women with a powerful platform to share their personal
experiences with sex, drug
abuse, domestic violence, low self-esteem, bullying and depression.
The organization seeks to equip
these girls with important life skills to advance them in their
schools and workplaces. BSW tackles
difficult issues like poverty and teenage pregnancy by bringing in
teenage mothers to talk to program
participants, and working with “Girl Preneurs”, teenagers who hold
dreams of one day owning their own
businesses. Resulting directly from BSW’s work in local communities,
Memphis has seen a 17.1%
decrease in poverty, and a 50% decrease in teen pregnancies.
Since inception 9 years ago, BSW has spread to eight different cities
and states, regularly serving 5,000-
10,000 constituents each year. BSW frequently hosts workshops,
seminars, luncheons, school visits, and
empowerment workshops, in addition to caring for the elderly and
homeless populations by distributing
food and care packages.

Our ultimate goal is to make ourselves readily available wherever we are needed in the community. BSW is not just an organization it is a lifestyle.
We are a group of women diligently working to improve our conditions.

The birth of BSW was giving to the vision of Crystal M. Clark –
Chatman (CEO) in March of 2009. She then held her very first
meeting April of 2009 at an IHOP on Shelby Drive in Memphis, TN. The
place was filled with women who were willing to serve in the
community to help young girls. Crystal waited to see how many was
going to be committed before she made any sound
decisions and on November 10, 2010, BSW was founded. She began
gathering her sisters and everyone together with the
collective mind set of empowering one another and youth girls.
Motivated to be like her mother, she was called to action all
strong, uplifting, positive, and productive women. To this day so many
women is still apart of this amazing organization and
ministry since 2009.

A Word from Our Founder

Crystal Headshot 2

Looking back over my life growing up in a single parent home with five other siblings, I can only thank God for the guidance and support system he has placed in my life.

As a young girl I suffered with low self –esteem and thought everybody was supposed to be my friend. Throughout my life I tried to find easy ways out instead of believing in God that he will see me through. Of course we all make poor decisions, but somewhere down that road, I found me. Beautiful Spirited Women Girls Mentoring Program was designed and created by God himself.

I have a chance to stand before girls who, were just like me lost and trying to find their way in life. I knew it was time to empower these young girls and mold them to become entrepreneurs. The current social issues that I am mainly focused on are empowering our youth, education, and healthy living. “You can be who YOU want to be and never let anyone stop your dream from coming true”.

Blessings to my amazing husband Troy, my 3 beautiful children Tranae, Asia & Tristan, my parents James & Bobbie Jean, my siblings Delbera, Demetrius, Ursula, Nicole, Carloz, Daryl  & Florrie, my nieces and nephews & Our Sisterhood – Beautiful Spirited Women , Teens, Cupcakes, Soldiers and all of our sponsors.
